Violence in the STIP , Kemendikbud Preparing The Cut Generation

If violence has been the tradition , how effective is cut generation .

Ahead of National Education Day May 2, 2014 , the world of education in Indonesia has haunted dark note , one case of violence in the School of Sailing ( STIP ) , Marunda , North Jakarta .

Dimas Handoko ( 19 ) , the official school of young cadets lost their lives on Saturday, April 26, 2014 , as a result of seven senior persecuted in his rented room . The reason , angry perpetrator Dimas , second semester student was judged to be respectful to the seniors who have been the fourth semester .

Minister of Education and Culture Mohammad Nuh , admitted concern over the case. He stated that it had cooperated with the police to conduct an investigation of the case to completion .

" We are very, very concerned . We have cooperated with the police to investigate this case mutual aid to its roots , " said M Noah a press conference after the National Education Day ceremony at the Ministry of Education and Culture, in Senayan, South Jakarta , today Friday , May 2, 2014.

Spoken by Noah , the Ministry of Education and Culture , which houses the operational license of all schools operating in Indonesia , will take serious action against the culture of violence that is believed to have been rooted in official schools run by the Ministry of Transportation .

" To cut the chain of violence in the STIP , we will take decisive steps . Kemendikbud already instructed the Higher Education to conduct an audit of the school . Audit one of which was conducted to determine whether the incident was an accident or a true yesterday is a tradition that has been attached ," she said that The audit targeted for completion before the start of the new school year in the STIP .

Added Noah , when violence in the name of such seniority is the tradition of hazing in the STIP , then Kemendikbud will perform cutting strategy generation , or temporarily suspend new admissions to the school .

"If it's about the tradition of violence , then the most effective way , cut generation , " said Noah .

With cutting strategy generation , the STIP will not be allowed to accept new students until the students are currently still a junior graduating from STIP .

"If it is a tradition of violence , which is currently a junior , later they become senior revenge . Soon repeated . So if such a cut there will be no revenge . Force a clean future students will not be contaminated properties ," said Noah .

Noah said the move like it 's already been done to the Faculty of Engineering at the State University of Makassar .

" Previously at UNM because of the frequent brawls in the faculty of engineering . Finally we took the decision to stop new admissions in the first courses in the engineering faculty , " he said .

There are currently seven senior perpetrators of violence in the STIP has been expelled from the school . Everything is already set to be suspect by the North Jakarta Police . Seventh offenders under sentence of 9 years imprisonment . ( adi )
